Senior Java Software Engineer (m/f/d)

About the Role:

Java Software Engineers focus on developing components for the PoolParty product family. They are involved in all stages of the software development process from requirements analysis and feature implementation/bug fixing to architectural decisions and quality assurance.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Refine, design and implement PoolParty product features with the scrum team (with focus on backend development)
  • Participate in Product Backlog Refinement sessions to formulate user stories by clarifying the technical details
  • Mentoring developers and guiding them towards best development practices and participate in regular code reviews and pair programming sessions

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Completed university studies in IT or adequate practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Java development (Java 8+, Spring and associated frameworks and libraries)
  • Solid understanding of professional software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes and testing
  • Willingness to educate yourself about web-based Information Management, Semantic Web, and Linked Data
  • Analytical thinking, teamwork and communication skills

 

Other qualifications and experiences (nice to have):

  • Business proficiency in English, German is a plus
  • Experience with technologies like graph databases, triple stores (e.g GraphDB) and search index stores (Elasticsearch, Solr)
  • Experience working with scrum methodologies
  • 3 years of relevant digital marketing experience

The minimum gross salary offered (full-time-equivalent) is EUR 55.000,00 p.a. – overpayment is possible depending on education, skills and prior work experience.
