We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our passionate team in Vienna, Austria. This is a part time position working 30 hours per week. At Semantic Web Company (SWC), you’ll work alongside great people with a wide variety of backgrounds and talents.

About the Role

The Technical Writer is responsible for producing high-quality product documentation that educates and guides our global community of customers, partners and other stakeholders. They maintain the entire scope of PoolParty’s documentation (including applications on top of the PoolParty platform like our SharePoint integration or our ESG solution) from content creation in the Help Authoring Tool to publishing it online. The Technical Writer collaborates with the Senior Technical Writer and facilitates communication with other relevant departments such as Product Management/Development, Testing, and Professional Services. The documentation team is embedded in the Marketing Team.

Your Main Responsibilities:
  • Research, write, edit, and proofread complex technical descriptions for installation guides, end user documentation, procedures, training materials, release notes, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Create and incorporate GIFs, graphs, illustrations, or screenshots to increase the user’s understanding of the material
  • Manage our Help Authoring Tool, Paligo, with respect to general maintenance and enhancements for the internal editorial process and external user experience
  • Assist in the adaptation of content for our e-learning platform PoolParty Academy.
  • Assist in UI localization with internal and external stakeholders
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
  • Ability to translate highly technical information into easily understandable information for customers
  • Knowledge of documentation specific topics such as versioning, release processes, product extension
  • Experience using a Help Authoring Tool, preferably Paligo
  • Basic skills in graphic and video editing.
  • Experience with a ticketing system such as Jira, to organise work
  • Self-driven to learn new product features
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Business proficiency in English, especially with written text. German is a plus

 

Other qualifications and experiences that are an asset:
  • Work experience in a similar role in the IT industry (preferable B2B Software)
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, for example in Communications, English, or Information Technology (or comparable qualification)

The yearly gross salary offered is EUR 34.860 p.a. – overpayment is possible depending on education, skills, and prior work experience. This position is a part-time position with 30 hours per week.
