Exchanging experience: Confluence & Jira Community Day 2012

  • Conferences & Events, Uncategorized

The annual Confluence & Jira Community Day for the German-speaking area (organised by Communardo Software GmbH) took place last week in the Haus am Domplatz in Frankfurt. Dirk Röhrborn (CEO Communardo) opened with an interesting keynote about agile processes in organisation and pointed out historical and modern implications. Sven Peters then outlined the passion as key and driving force to successfully develop software at Atlassian.

Best practice presentations then gave an insight into the diversity of application possibilities of Confluence and Jira, from project management via finding suitable suppliers to the implementation of knowledge management projects. The Semantic Web Company presented with PowerTagging for Confluence a brandnew addon for improved label management. The visitors were thrilled with the opportunity to optimize the search in Confluence, using semi-automatic annotation of wiki pages. In discussions it became clear that the demand for strong enterprise-wide search capabilities increases as companies have different systems (CMS, DMS, ERP) and content pools in use. The Semantic Web Company realized Enterprise Search and provides with the thesaurus-based approach not only a lightweight, fast knowledge model to be realized, but also comprehensive semantic search capabilities.

An open space for exchanging experiences with Confluence and Jira rounded off the event. Thank you very much at this point to Communardo for organising this great day and see you next year!
